06 / THE METHOD
Why these numbers are worth trusting.
Analytics is easy to make flattering. These four rules are what keep the dashboard honest instead.
Three posts at 8 PM is not a finding. Buckets with thin samples are faded, labelled low-confidence, or left out of the ranking — the dashboard says “not enough data yet” rather than inventing a best hour.
Every comparison is against your own history, never against a global benchmark from accounts with different sizes, topics, and audiences. 3.2× median means 3.2× of your median.
Every delta compares against the immediately preceding period of the same length, so a 30-day view is never quietly measured against a 7-day one.
